Adobe Reader, available as a free download (This is the original information provided by Wiltshire County Council) On Monday 23rd January 2006, the Malmesbury Boomerang bookable evening taxi service will begin operating in your area! The Malmesbury Boomerang provides you with a completely flexible bookable evening taxi solution if you live within the Boomerang zone for this service. This zone covers: The service can offer you evening journey opportunities between 6.00pm and 10.30pm Monday to Saturday between these villages as well as travel to and from Malmesbury, Chippenham, Wootton Bassett and Swindon. However, initially capacity may be limited and when demand for the service is high travel will be booked on a first come first served basis and as many journeys catered for as possible using taxi sharing. Why not use the service to visit friends, youth clubs or pubs, to go out for the evening in one of the main towns, or to travel to educational courses or places of work – the choice is yours. The Malmesbury Boomerang has flexible arrival and departure times at any of the towns and villages served so that you can choose when and where you travel to between 6.00pm and 10.30pm. The cost to use the service is being kept as close as possible to a normal bus fare though the fare does reflect the specialist nature of the service in order to make the Boomerang a sustainable service. The Malmesbury Boomerang service can connect to any trains arriving or departing from Kemble Station between 6pm and 10pm in the evening if the journey is booked in advance and as long as the taxi is not booked to travel elsewhere in the Boomerang zone. The Malmesbury Boomerang vehicle is fully wheelchair accessible and able to carry up to seven seated people or five seated people if a wheelchair user has booked onto the service. Leaflets providing full information about this new service brought to you by Wiltshire County Council and the Department for Transport will be available from 19th December 2005.
